Last few weeks I have ridden to Mt. St Helens,Stonehenge East of Maryhill( monument dedicated to WW1 Veterans from Maryhill),Klickitat valley and Mt Adams.
I traveled both routes (503& 504)to Mt St Helens wouldn't you know it 1 day was spectacular and the next cold and rainy.
Wa 14 led me to Stonhenge with some magnificent views of Mt Hood and The Gorge.
I then rode 142 N along the Klickitat River . The F800GS felt really nimble through the twisties .
The road to Glenwood gave some unbelievable views of the valley
Mt Adams was out in full view as I came to a pull out , many bikers were out and about celebrating Memorial Day.
I discovered that with the GS only my inexperience is it's limitations.
Having said that we found quite a few roads that were enjoyed by the rider and I'm sure Darthvader had a blast as well.
I have closed a chapter with my 2003 1200Gt you see it being ridden away with it's new owner John. The Goat as I had named it gave me 105,000 miles of nothing but fun and adventure , I know I will regret selling her . A most reliable piece of German engineering.
